In Call of Duty 2 you can enable Dx9 and get much better visuals, including dynamic lighning, shadows and simple reflections. This shows you how to modify the asset and shader-pipeline, set up the materials and change the HLSL to get awesome looking shaders ingame.

This mod uses a more lightweight approach on vehicles, shown for a custom tank model. It rotates on inclined planes, can shoot at the aimed target, has simple animated/scrolling tracks and collision detection to other vehicles, the world geometry and players.
